Welcome to Mohawk Trail / Hawlemont Regional

Welcome to the Mohawk Trail and Hawlemont School Districts!

Thank you for virtually visiting the Mohawk Trail and Hawlemont Regional School Districts where learning and growth are our focus and community and courage are our path.

When I became the superintendent five years ago, I had a vision for what was possible across our rural districts. What we are doing inside and outside our classrooms is remarkable. I know this because when I am in the middle of a classroom tour, I see the richness that our teachers are bringing to our students and our students to each other.

At the elementary level, we’ve moved to a three-pronged English Language Arts (ELA) curriculum that allows students to read and write through age-appropriate learning and instruction leading to more student proficiency. Mathematics is being taught in more active ways than ever.

In middle and high school, our students are trailblazers, engaging in real world learning through dual enrollment, capstone projects, work-based learning, and internships. This real-world focus means our students participate in hands-on learning in classrooms and in our community.

On the athletic fields, courses, and courts, we are Warriors, performing at the top of our divisions, especially being known as stellar runners and skiers.

At the moment, we are engaged in a sustainability study to determine how we can continue the important work of educating our children while making the most of efficiencies available to us.

We are fortunate that our school communities are wonderful learning environments for students with generous opportunities to grow, lead, and blaze their own trails!

Sincerely,
